We use 925k silver, sterling silver and 18ct gold -yellow, white & red/rose.
The purity of the metal used in each piece of jewellery is shown by a stamp or hallmark.
Both of them are pretty much unreactive at room temparatures. So they wouldnt react even if they are in contact with each other.
Avoid scratching them against solid surfaces, and take them off whenever you’re about to start any housework or take a shower.
Keep your jewellery away from direct contact with any chemicals such as cleansers, perfumes, etc.
Take them off before you dip into any water, pools or beaches.
Wrap your Jewellery in a dry, clean cotton cloth when storing.
Wearing silver will keep it looking nice, as once silver is put in a drawer, or in hot pools, it starts to oxidize/tarnish.
To remove any tarnish use a silver cloth or silver dip. All your jewellery can also have a good general regular clean in warm water.
You may even want to bring it in to us, or to your local reputable jeweller, for a sonic and buff every now and then to keep it looking really nice.
It is a natural reaction for your jewelry to tarnish over time. The blackened color of this metal indicates, precisely, that our jewelry is made of 925k Sterling Silver.
Silver darkens due to hydrogen sulfide (sulfur), a substance that occurs in the air. When silver comes into contact with it, a chemical reaction takes place and a black layer is formed. Besides that, the natural oils and sweat that your skin produces can also react to your silver jewelry.
